The 7th Annual Latin Mixx Conference & Latin Mixx Awards 2012 Recap
New York, New York – Creative Media Group celebrated their most successful year yet in their production of The Latin Mixx Conference & Latin Mixx Awards 2012. The event best known for their exclusivity of the Latin Market recognizes Latin DJs in a class of their own. The event also focuses on the basic elements, which surround DJs within the Latin Market, such as Art, Fashion, Music, Entrepreneurship and Media.
The opening night, held at Phuket, NYC was hosted by Coors Light and also had the presence of Latin Lover Energy Drink, Coors Light and BMI featured the classic Latin Mixx programming, which we all look forward to every year, The Latin Mixx Turntablist and Artist Showcases. DJs Caoz, Incrediboi, Philly Phil, DP1, React & Danny S blessed the turntables with their skills, while artists Krissy Krissy, Sito Rocks, Ruina Nueva, Kuko AlaMala, Buda and Juan Bago and O, performed their newest music. The Fashion of Manuel Pacedo was also on display.
Wednesday’s events where held at NASDAQ Marketsite, NYC located in the heart of Times Square, sponsored by, Hennessy VS, BMI, The Source, 1-800-Cantaso, Text for Less, Mega 97.9 fm, FL20, Monster, Remington’s World, Being Latino, MTV Tr3’s, Send to Print, and Music Choice. Educational panels featured programming centered around Digital Marketing and Social Marketing. Panelists included Jose Manuel Simian from NY1 Noticias, Jojo Remington from Remingtons World, Kim Osario from The Source, Jesus Trevino editor of Latina Magazine, Alex Frias from the Track Marketing Group, Manny Gonzalez from Moet Hennessy USA, Yvette Baez from Univision, Edwin Hincapie from Dieste. Moderating were Lonnie Limon from The Marketing Arm and Lance Rios for Being Latino.
BMI then featured a special panel, “How I Prodced/Wrote that Song” moderated by BMI’s own Porfirio Pina and panelists, DJ Blass, producers A&X, Artist Natti Natasha and Andres Hidalgo from 2 Strong Ent. Finally, The Latin Mixx Conference presented its “Super Panel” with the top Latino Influencers, Tego Calderon, Johnny Marines manager of Aventura and Romeo Santos, DJ Camilo from Hot 97 FM, Eric Garcia from La Mega and Joe Fisher from MVA Entertainment Group.
A major highlight of the day was First Annual Latina In The Mixx and The Latin Mixx Icon Award hosted by Hennessy VS VS at The Copacabana, NYC. The Latina In The Mixx recipient was Mayra Veronica and The Latin Mixx Icon Award was presented to the pioneer, Tego Calderon. Their peers and family all joined together to recognize them as a true pioneers for the Latino community. Both were truly in awe and the ambience set the stage with positive vibes and inspiration for following days’ Latin Mixx Awards.
The climax of the entire 3 days has got to be The Latin Mixx Awards Show sponsored by Hennessy VS, an evening event held at The Stage at The Times Center, NYC. This event gives everyone attending the chance to celebrate. DJs, Artists, Executives, Models and Designers all dressed in their best, walked the Hennessy VS “Red Carpet” in style.
As always The Latin Mixx Awards, took off without a hitch. Hosting where the Latina In The Mixx, Mayra Veronica and La Mega’s Alex Sensation. Comedian Smokey Suarez entertained the crowd while DJ Devin Ibiza and Rhythm City joined forced to present the new generation.
A special tribute was performed for the Icon Award recipient, Tego Calderon that featured an amazing collaboration by K.O., Cristian Dior and Sito Rocks. Tego Calderon, expressed the need to support the Dj’s and the Latino Community and thanked the Latin Mixx Conference & Awards for all the love and recognition he received over the 3 day long conference.
